I’m Carley Rojas Ávila
I’m an independent journalist with the coolest job in the world: I get paid to travel the globe and inspire others to do the same.
For the past six years, I’ve been a regular freelance contributor to outlets like Forbes, Travel + Leisure, The Weather Channel, MSN, Euronews, and the Associated Press. My work has appeared in more than 300 different digital and print outlets across the United States and worldwide.
For nearly fifteen years, I’ve been exploring every corner of Latin America, living in Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, and Ecuador. It’s the crux of my journalistic work and my passion. Now, when I’m not on the road, I’m based in Medellín, Colombia.
My love for Latin America inspired me to create Soleada Travel, where I share all my pro-level travel tips and firsthand experience across the region.
I also write and self-publish meticulously researched city guides and trip itineraries for the coolest destinations across the region, and provide travel planning and advising services for those seeking a hassle-free adventure.
